COOLANT |
Here's
some useful maintenance tips.
· As with any other veichle, don't open the circuit with a warm engine.
· Completely remove the body panels… you'll work smoothly.
· Unscrew the bleeding screw before you take off the cork; coolant will not bleed out unless air enters the circuit.
· Be warned: coolant flow will be abundant at first, so hold a bucket in front of the bleeding hole.
· Don't pour coolant in the expansion reservoir unless the circuit is completely filled. It's not recomended and it's vain.
· Proceed carefully, pouring the coolant slowly and waiting the fluid to descent in the motor. You can accelerate this operation by pinching alternatively the rubber hoses, easing out air bubbles.
· Once the cicuit looks completely filled you can screw in the cork and fill the expansion reservoir.
· Check the reservoir to reach the correct coolant level.
All of the operations described above are much more easily done with the motorcycle on the side stand; you can also cant the bike on the left to help the fluid flow out.
